Book Review(s)
Richard Fuller, Senior Editor writes:
Intuition n. Immediate apprehension or cognition. Second sight. Sixth sense.
Intuition is a word that defines Maia Kincaid's life and purpose---and led to the writing of Being Human & Loving Life. Indeed, as a little (and very curious) girl, she wanted to meet God to find out the why and purpose of life---and to experience the peace she felt in nature, with plants and animals.
In adulthood and after conversations with thousands of animals (pets) as well as plants, insects, and Mother Earth, Dr. Kincaid gathered together all the conversations and considered writing a book. It was Delight, the pet horse who encouraged her to share the stories as they come, and so she does.
Being Human & Loving Life is filled with warm and relevant insights. Here are a few excerpts from conversations held at their owner's requests as well as chance meetings.
In Chapter 15, Hop Along, Dr. Kincaid has a fascinating (and telling) conversation with a grasshopper. One insightful paragraph reads, "I want to emphasize the importance of listening intently, as well as feeling what another has to say. This is the true manner of communication with another as it brings the moment of communing into one's full awareness. It makes the moments of communing fully alive and vibrant, with the participants both nurtured and deeply understood."
And in Wisdom a bee tells us: "It is important that you keep your dreams in the forefront of all your thoughts and expressions. Keep a meditative focus on them so they have space to come forth. Your dreams are your primary work, no matter how many hours you work elsewhere and how few hours that you think that you put towards your dreams. Keep your focus on them and know that when you listen to your intuition all that you do, even those seemingly unrelated tasks, helps in the ultimate expression of your dreams."
When Maia Kincaid quiets her mind to listen, either face-to-face or via thought waves, she hears and understands them, and they understand her. Being Human & Loving Life is a beautiful compilation of this oneness, and is why I so strongly recommend it to you, as well as it's companion book, Learning to Love!
Joyce B. Anderson writes:
This is a fantastic book. I feel that this book is an important message for all of us humans. Once that you start reading this book it is difficult to put it down. I was so amazed at how much the animals and plants know about us, although I often wondered how they seemed to relate to us so well. The pets are so tuned to us as to what we are doing and thinking. They have no worries and just live in the moment and enjoy life to the fullest. I'm seeing from reading this book that it is now very important that I do my best to live more like the animals and plants. I would certainly like to have that peace and fun like they have.
Linda-Ann Stewart writes:
I freely admit that I'm a dog lover and have had pets (companions) for most of my life. I've both enjoyed and been frustrated by their antics. And as I've had some mental communication with them, it was with great interest that I read this book. The author, Maia Kincaid, is an animal communicator, and she describes some of the mental conversations that she's had with clients' pets, wild animals, insects and even plants.
Reading this book, I was fascinated to see how our animal friends view us, and how strongly they have their own agendas in their interactions with us. From why a cat ran away, to horses choosing their new owners, to a rose giving sage advice about love, this book showed that when we heed the world around us, we can understand so much more.
I was especially intrigued with the chapter about a dog who was taking on the stress of his owner and allowing it to affect his health. This reminded me of a friend whose beloved dog reflected all of her (rather rare) physical ailments. The dialogue with the animal in this chapter was enlightening, explaining how our animal companions seek to aid us.
We are truly connected with all things. Maia has a unique gift to be able to translate the messages from other beings and use it to benefit us all. This book is a rich tapestry of insight, inspiration and revelation about the life around us and how we are all intertwined.
